Not a lot happened in Fall of 2025, but something big occurred. Or should I say someone little?

Meet Evie!

For awhile, Lucas and I had been considering adopting another cat, but we also knew finding the right fit might be a challenge. There were a few cats we were interested in meeting, but they were always part of a bonded pair and we just couldn’t get TWO more cats. So we kept looking, thinking there was a cat out there that would be right for us.

Well, I was scrolling through my work’s Facebook feed and up pops the cutest little kitten, who is up for adoption at a rescue centre nearby.

By the time I saw the post, there were already over 100 comments of people wanting to adopt her. Certain I was already too late, I still sent the link to Lucas and we submitted an application to adopt her.

The very next morning, we were told our application was approved (with an absolutely glowing review from our vet) and we could go meet her.

So we went that afternoon and fell in love with the adorable rascal.

She had just been spayed so she had this cute little onesie on that pushed up her neck fur, giving her the sweetest little tuff.

That very afternoon we took her home, and settled on the name “Evie”, after Evie/Evelyn from The Mummy movie franchise. We apparently named her well because she is super clumsy 😅

The other cats were naturally very curious, but we kept them separated for awhile before introducing her to the rest of the family. We started with Panther since he’s been through this three times before and he’s the most patient cat I have ever met. He was pretty indifferent to Evie. He just sort of watched her before growing bored.

Hawkins was mainly scared of her, despite Evie basically being 1/3 of his size.

Ciri was definitely the most annoyed by Evie, but Evie also really wanted to play with her cool big sister.

But by the end of two weeks, we were confident leaving them on their own and having full access to all areas of the house for everyone.

Hawkjns and Evie definitely seem to be the closest. They live to wrestle with one another and will cuddle. Though Evie prefers to burrow under the blankets and sleep with her daddy.

The rest of Fall was mainly medical tests and working on 4 audio dramas for Wolf & Magpie Media. We released:

  1. Ashe & Brimstone

  2. Camp Nekydallon

  3. Half Moon Mischief (Halloween Special)

  4. When Swanns Die

It was a loooot of work. Those dramas combined is probably close to about 6 hours of content and editing everything together took up pretty much every single moment of my free time. Especially doing the video versions with the visuals (character & background art + subtitles)

So between the new kitty, medical issues and a ton of audio dramas, autumn went by in a flash.

Suddenly, it was winter ❄️
