2025 In Review - Spring

2025 was an absolute roller coaster ride with some ups, but mostly downs.

The year started off really well, with Aaron Moy and I attending Fan Expo Vancouver as voice acting panelists. The event went really well, and many people came up to us afterwards to thank us for an informative look into the world of voice over.

Things kind of derailed after that with the very sudden and unexpected death of my brother-in-law, Shaun. I won’t go into that, as it isn’t really my place to speak about this publicly. it was hard. Hard to accept. Hard to see the life my sister had built with Shaun come crumbling down. It’s still hard to believe a year later. I can’t even imagine how difficult this must have been (and still is) for my sister. She’s truly one of the strongest people I know.

Life honestly was a blur afterwards. I started my medical journey that would take nearly a year before getting a diagnosis (more on that in my Winter post).

Lucas and I ventured to Seattle for a photoshoot. It was our first time going back to the USA since the administration change, and it definitely felt different. Of course, everything was fine, and we didn’t run into any issues, but we certainly didn’t feel as comfortable being there as we usually do.

The photoshoot was a lot of fun. We got to see some sakura trees at the university on the first day, and explored the area. We have been to Seattle so many times, but mainly stuck to the convention center area so it was nice to see more of the city.

The second photoshoot was extremely cool! Since Lucas was wearing Cloud (FFVII), we wanted an industrial setting so the photographers rented out the Georgetown Steam Plant. Having the plant basically to ourselves was awesome and the photos turned out amazing!

We also ended up doing the sewer tours, which was fascinating. It’s incredible that there’s basically an entire city beneath the city of Seattle.

The rest of spring was pretty much just work and doctor visits, but something very exciting happened! My first mobile gacha game came out! Journey Renewed: Fate Fantasy was released worldwide, and I had the honour of voicing Lady Spider and Princess Peacock.

Spring wrapped up in the most epic way… A trip to Perth, Australia! Full post about that coming up!
